Board
The founding members of the board of the Martial Arts Studies Association are the editors of the journal, Martial Arts Studies:
Paul Bowman (Cardiff University)
Alex Channon (University of Brighton)
Ben Judkins (Cornell University)
Lauren Miller (Texas Tech University)
Wayne Wong (University of Sheffield)
Current board members may elect new members of the board.
Fellows
The Board elects Fellows of the Martial Arts Studies Association on the basis of sustained excellence in contributions to the field/s of martial arts studies. The first Fellows were selected based on past and ongoing contributions to the development of martial arts studies, via such activities as conference organisation and participation, esteemed publications, and significant contributions to the journal and other publications.
Future fellows are nominated, either by a board member or a current fellow.
Membership
To join the Martial Arts Studies Association, please email a CV and a 500-word statement about your past, current and intended future contribution to the academic field(s) of martial arts studies.
Benefits
Members of the Martial Arts Studies Association will be able to make use of a range of benefits, including extra conferences, workshops, meetings and seminars, conference discounts, and more.
Membership Fee
There are two forms of membership:
Standard: £/$/€ to be confirmed
Student: £/$/€ to be confirmed
Fees must be paid annually.
